งานวิจัย Dyllick & Muff (2016) จาก Journal of Cleaner Production ได้กล่าวถึง “การพัฒนาองค์กรให้มีความยั่งยืน” ว่า องค์กรที่ลงทุนในการพัฒนาความยั่งยืนจะมีความพร้อมในการจัดการกับความเสี่ยงด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมและสังคม รวมถึงเพิ่มโอกาสในการเข้าถึงตลาดใหม่ๆ ที่ให้ความสำคัญกับผลิตภัณฑ์และบริการที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม อีกทั้งยังเพิ่มความได้เปรียบในการแข่งขัน
Eccles et al.'s (2021) research published in the Journal of Sustainable Finance & Investment found that organizations that adopt a core sustainability approach, such as ESG, are more resilient and stable than those that do not currently practice the same approach. ESG approaches also boost investor and consumer confidence.
Building a sustainable organization is not just about following the trend, but also about adapting for a stable future. Raising awareness of sustainability helps organizations manage resources efficiently and cost-effectively, creating a good public image, and also helping to create better resilience in today’s and future volatile markets.
