World Economic Forum Or the World Economic Forum has determined that “Critical Thinking” (อ่านว่า คริท’ทิเคิล ธิง’คิง) หรือ “การคิดอย่างมีวิจารณญาณ” เป็นหนึ่งในทักษะที่คนทำงานต้องมีก่อนปีค.ศ. 2025 การเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างก้าวกระโดดในโลกปัจจุบัน ทำให้ระบบนิเวศทางธุรกิจเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างฉับพลัน การที่จะรับมือกับภาวะนี้คนทำงานต้องอาศัยชุดข้อมูล ชุดความรู้ใหม่ มาขับเคลื่อนองค์กรหลังจากนี้ ซึ่งต้องพึ่งพากระบวนการ การสืบค้นข้อมูล , การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล , การสรุปผล และ การตัดสินใจบนพื้นฐานข้อมูลชุดใหม่ “การคิดอย่างมีวิจารณญาณ” คือ ความพยายามที่จะคิดและตัดสินใจในสิ่งต่างๆ โดยใช้กระบวนการทางเหตุผล ที่ได้มาซึ่งหลักฐาน ข้อเท็จจริงหรือข้อมูลสนับสนุน มองข้ามประสบการณ์ตัวเอง หรือความเชื่อดั้งเดิม รวมไปถึงใช้อารมณ์ ความรู้สึกให้น้อยที่สุด เพื่อหลีกเลี่ยงการเกิดอคติในการคิดและการตัดสินใจ โดยมีจุดมุ่งหมายสำคัญคือ การหาคำตอบที่สมเหตุสมผล และเป็นไปได้มากที่สุด ที่สำคัญต้องดีกว่าการตอบคำนี้ในครั้งที่แล้ว เพื่อนำไปสู่ขั้นตอนการตัดสินใจที่มีประสิทธิภาพ และลงมือทำต่อไป จึงสรุปได้ว่า การคิดอย่างมีวิจารณญาณ จะมาช่วยยกระดับประสิทธิภาพการทำงานในบริบทใหม่ที่ไม่คุ้นเคย และไม่สามารถใช้ชุดประสบการณ์เก่ามาวิเคราะห์และตัดสินใจได้
