The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) collected and analyzed data and found that business organizations operating in 1935 had an average lifespan of 95 years before collapsing, but business organizations operating in 2005 had an average lifespan of only 15 years. Of course, rapid changes in the world, including various crises, shorten the lifespan of a business. Businesses that do not adapt may not survive. But how did business organizations that are 100 years old or older such as Nintendo, GE (General Electric), Jonson & Jonson, 3M, P & G, and Pfizer survive? The answer is “Innovation”.

Design Thinking or the design thinking process is an innovation tool that is popular and accepted worldwide, both in business organizations, government organizations, and startups. Design thinking originated from the D-school of Stanford University, USA, which is ranked at the same level as Harvard. Design thinking is a design process that focuses on humans as the center through 5 steps: Understanding, Defining, Creating, Simulating, and Testing (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype &, Test).
